Situated in the heart of Bruges, our Study House offers a comfortable and homely place to stay for people who want to study lace in the lace capital of Flanders.
The Study House is a quaint house that has been renovated in a style which expresses the Diane Claeys philosophy. Although it's an antique house, it has every modern convenience. Alongside two large bedrooms, the house features a spaceous study room which provides ample space for lacemaking and private courses in a pleasant atmosphere.
The Study House is primarily used by people who share our passion for lace. Courses on the history of lace or on the technique of lacemaking are organized on a regular basis. For more information about these courses, see below.
These are the rates for our guestrooms :
50 euro for a single room with shower
60 euro for a twin room with shower
Cancellations which occur
Between 14 days and 4 days prior to the arrival date: cancellation fee is 10% of the total amount of the reservation.
Between 3 days and 1 day prior to the arrival date: cancellation fee is 30% of the total amount of the reservation.
On the arrival date: cancellation fee is 90% of the total amount of the reservation.
Cancellation without notification: cancellation fee is 100% of the thotal amount of the reservation.

Courses in the Study House
For those who want to learn more about lace, whether it be the history of lace or the technique of lacemaking, we organize a variety of courses. These private courses take place in the Study House.
Some of these courses are Torchon and Flanders.
Duration : 1 day to 3 days
Material: All equipment is supplied by us. There is no need to bring your own pillow nor bobbins.
Prior knowledge: Some experience of lace making is recommended if you follow the Flanders course or the advanced Torchon course.
