Lace and Lace Glass

Lace and lace glass originated in Venice and attracted fervent admiration from all over Europe. In the Venetian Glass Museum in Hakone, 100 pieces of lace and lace glass are on display as well as a comprehensive look into its cultural background and related stories.

The Burano Lace Museum, the Murano Glass Museum and Diane Claeys provide the beautiful pieces on display. A dress that belonged to Margherita of Savoy (1851-1926), the Queen consort of the Kingdom of Italy, who established the Burano Lace Museum, will be exhibited for the first time in Japan.
