A message with compassion
We would like to express our deepest feelings of sympathy for the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Tohoku prefecture on March 11th, 2011.
It is an unbelievable shock for the whole country of Japan. A lot of families lost their loved ones. There is an immense sadness among all the inhabitants of Japan.
A lot of effort will be needed to get the lifeline back to normal again. But there is a strong belief that the Japanese people will overcome this tragedy. In the past, Japan survived natural catastrophes such as the Kobe earthquake and others.
Japan is a country where earthquakes often occur. They realize very well the misery that an earthquake or tsunami can cause. Therefore, Japan is always one of the first countries to offer help wherever in the world there is an earthquake.
It is positive that so many countries want to provide assistance to Japan. Russia and China and many other countries offered spontaneous support to Japan.
In this emergency situation it is important to realize that many countries in the world have peaceful feelings for each other.
In the future, the Tohoku region will be restored but for a long time there will be a need for emotional support. New homes and the bare necessities can be supplied but friendship and warm encouragement are the most needed at this moment.
My family and I are convinced that Japan can overcome this crisis. It is a wonderful country to live in and we are sure it will always be. Sakura (cherryblossom) will bloom soon. The blooming will give us all hope. Sakura evokes happiness among the Japanese people who realize that nature gives them hope for the future!
