WARLACE
This tablecentre has medallions in Point de Venise and is surrounded by Valenciennes lace. The centre medallion shows King Albert I on his horse. Underneath it says "Le roi au front" (The king at the battlefield).
On the top you can see very meaningful words of that period, namely "Courage" (courage) and "Espérance" (hope).

Albert I, King of Belgium, earned himself the nickname "Roi Chevalier" (King Knight) because of his courageous behavior on the battlefield.

His wife, Queen Elisabeth, put her energy in improving the Belgian laceindustry.
